3 DECEMBER 2024 | 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm ET
Duke Academics & Staff for Justice in Palestine was founded in December 2023. This participatory event marks the one-year anniversary of the group. Bringing together students, faculty, staff, and community members in teaching and learning circles, we’ll reflect on the following: How are students energizing and organizing one another? How do we increase our power? Where do we go from here in terms of goals and strategies? This event is open to all but requires an RSVP. We will meet on Duke’s East Campus — the exact location will be sent out the morning of the event. Dinner will be provided!
Click to explore the central themes we’ll engage together in the Organizing for Palestine teaching and learning circles:
Teaching Palestine
How do we integrate Palestine into different syllabi?
Organizing STEM and Biomedicine
How can we activate each other in science, technology, engineering, and biomedical fields for the liberation of Palestine?
Art and Activism
How can we use cultural intervention, performance, and public art to break silences and foster deep reflection?
Building Power On- and Off-Campus
How do we rethink our organizing tactics and goals for the current moment?
