If you’re hoping to shift your Duke retirement account into options that better reflect your personal values, here are the simple steps to get started through Fidelity:
1. Log in to your Duke retirement account
Go to www.netbenefits.com/duke and sign in with your Duke credentials.
2. Open the “BrokerageLink” option
Inside your account, select your 403(b) or retirement plan, then choose “BrokerageLink.” This gives you access to a broader selection of investments beyond the standard menu.
3. Follow the prompts to set up BrokerageLink
Fidelity will guide you through a brief setup process. It typically takes just a few minutes.
4. Transfer funds into BrokerageLink
Once your BrokerageLink account is active, you can move funds from your existing investments into BrokerageLink. You can transfer as much or as little as you would like. If you need help at any point, you can call a BrokerageLink representative at 1-800-343-3548.
5. Get support if you want help choosing aligned investments
If you’d prefer guidance, Crescent Private Wealth is offering Duke employees a complimentary review of your retirement accounts. You can request that here: crescentpw.com/duke
A Crescent Private Wealth team member will reach out personally, answer your questions, and help you review or rebalance your account in a way that reflects your goals, values, and long-term vision.
We have also spoken with advisors at Beacon Pointe. [We are getting some more language from BeaconPointe to include here]
When you schedule an appointment with a financial advisor, you can share the letter we sent to Fidelity with parameters for the kinds of funds to avoid. An advisor will help you select funds that meet those criteria while maintaining a balanced portfolio.
